How to Stop a Migraine
If not treated immediately, migraines can last for four hours to three days. Stop suffering from migraines immediately by placing yourself in an environment that relieves migraines & try various kinds of treatments or natural remedies that are considered to help deal with this throbbing headache.
1. Turn off the lamp.
Most migraines occur due to sensory stimulation, such as bright or flashing lights. Calm your five devices by turning off the lights and closing the curtains or moving to a dark room.- Stay in the dark room until the migraine is gone or as long as possible.
- Wear sun glasses if needed. If you are obliged to leave your place and are unable to go to a location that is too detailed or has no light, wear polarizing sun glasses to protect the eyes from the clearest portion of the light spectrum. This action may be quite effective when spending a few minutes in a dark room, but generally it will help.
2. Remove noise as much as possible.
Like light, sound is another sensory stimulus that is known to trigger migraines. Turn off all the sounds on you more or less, such as radio & television, or move to a quiet & serene place.- if you can't go to a separate room, wear noise-canceling headphones to prevent outside noise.
- Some people suspect silence causes stress or even discomfort. If this happens, turn on the white noise machine or air cleaner to form a soothing sound. You can also try soothing music, but avoid loud or happy songs.
3. Lie down and rest.
Stress and lack of sleep are common triggers for other migraine headaches. Spend a few minutes to lie on your back and close your eyes when the migraine attacks.-- Take a break of about five to 30 minutes to get rid of migraines.
- But note, some migraines can also be caused by too much sleep. If this is an error that triggers a migraine you experience, you should not lie too worn out
4. Take a deep breath.
Deep breathing exercises can relax the body, as a result release tension that might trigger migraines. [2]- Lie on your back with a pillow under your head and another pillow below your knees. The legs must be relatively bent.
- Place your right hand (or hands that are generally controlled) on the surface & other hands under the rib cage.
- Inhale slowly through the nose until you feel the stomach push your left hand (or the dominant hand). Exhale slowly through the pursed lips while tightening the stomach.
- Hold the right hand in the same position in this process.
- Perform this routine for 5 min.
5. Apply cold compress.
Cold washcloths placed on a diseased head can cause blood vessels in the area to narrow, thus slowing blood flow to the head.- Wet the washcloth gently and clean with cold water & place it on the forehead or back of the neck. Leave for 10 to 15 min. Pause for 10 to 15 minutes before putting the compress home and continue with this pattern until the migraine disappears.
- But, in some cases, cold temperatures can result in migraine getting worse. If the pain increases after five minutes of compression, stop immediately and try another method.
6. Take a bath with cold water,
then use sleep in a cool room. Stand in a cold shower using water that flows over your head for at least 15 minutes. Head massage when shampooing. This will reduce tension in the body while releasing heat from the scalp.- Remove excess water based on hair, but leave the hair moist. Don't dry your hair.
- Lie in a cool room while the hair is still in a damp state and try to take a nap. You can place a towel on the pillow if the pillow becomes wet.
7. Change your diet.
Often there are certain culinary that can trigger migraines; the trigger varies between people. You can find out what culinary triggers you have by noting the food you eat before a migraine headache appears and see if there are longer patterns formed. Foods that trigger generic migraine headaches are:- Foods containing aspartame or MSG
- Alcohol
- Chocolate
- Cheese
- Salami (a kind of marinated sausage)
- Caffeinated drinks
